I'd waited over thirty years for this precious moment! My hands in Marilyn's at Grauman's Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard - and yes! they fit! Outside Grauman's I bumped into someone vaguely familiar - the familiarity ended with a white dress - though she seemed like a nice lady! Well he tried - not a lot though! Marilyn on the big screen was organised courtesy of Melinda Mason - www.marilynmonroe.ca Melinda also organised the VIP room for everyone to have drinks after the showing - sadly due to some time problems we were unable to attend the VIP lounge although we did at least see the film! www.marilynmonroe.ca Just off Hollywood Blvd - the stars have taken their seats - they're just waiting for you! The artist is Thomas Suriya. The beautiful and Glamorous Susan Griffiths & Janet Valentine The Gorgeous Lee Marshall with the utterly stunning Jami Deadly The amazing and beautiful Suzie Kennedy, Joshua Greene and the gorgeous Carolien Display of Marilyn's personal items and clothing Display of Marilyn's personal items and clothing Display of Marilyn's personal items and clothing Joe Dimaggio's Golfing Shoes - I'm the hugest fan of Joe and was totally delighted to see these shoes! John Gilmore signing copies of his book 'Inside Marilyn Monroe' Joshua Greene being interviewed by TV crews Our Tour Guide was the amazingly knowledgeable and entertaining Eric Woodward! Marilyn was a regular at Barney's and it was here she met up with the photographer Tom Kelley and his wife Natalie for chilli and a coffee and to sign her model release form in respect of the nude photos Kelley had taken, known as the 'Red Velvet Sitting' on 27th May 1949 Sitting at Marilyn's favourite table! Marilyn and Joe rented this house when they returned from their honeymoon - it was from the front lawn here that Marilyn announced the breakup of their marriage via her lawyer, Gerry Geisler. This was the home of Marilyn's agent Johnny Hyde with whom she had a 2 year relationship. The short walk to Marilyn's last home at 5th Helena - I found this part of the journey extremely difficult On 14th January 1962 Marilyn purchased her last home with the help of Joe DiMaggio Reproduced with kind permission of my dear friend Joey Traughber - Thank you Joey! Another view of Marilyn's house The IM members talking about Marilyn's house, some had visited several times and for some, like myself - this was a first visit. During our time there a neighbours dog was barking incessantly Leaving Marilyn's house we had a group photo to remember the day and the people that shared it with us It's awesome to think that this is a view Marilyn would have seen every day as she returned to her home from wherever she had been Looking towards Marilyn's home By the time we arrived the day was fading and the atmosphere was electric. On 1st July 1962, Marilyn came down here with the photographer George Barris to continue an earlier photoshoot Peter Lawford and his wife Pat Lawford (nee Kennedy - Pat was the sister of President John Kennedy) were friends of Marilyn's and it is said that Marilyn would rendezvous here with the President I wish we could have spent more time here - I could have been here all day and still not been here long enough! The floral tributes were beautiful, after the memorial we had a short opportunity to reflect on the service and take some photos to capture the moment to remember forever Fans from across the globe that couldn't be there sent remembrance cards and dedicated photos of Marilyn Keeping her memory alive - Marilyn's light still shines I'm proud to be part of the membership that contributed to Immortal Marilyn's floral tribute - it was a beautiful creation A rose from Immortal Marilyn's heart In the chapel at Westwood after the service Members of Immortal Marilyn showing their love One of the many poems and dedications at Marilyn's crypt - a beautiful poem and a sentiment that we all shared
